Our metallurgical laboratory and process development department provide expertise in the development of induction heating and heat treatment. With 50 years of experience in the improvement of innovative and tailor-made processes based on induction heating, Saet Lab is the core of the R&D, where engineers test all the variables of the induction heating to obtain the desired profile: design of the inductors, quench system, mechanical design and power supply. Saet Lab’s application engineers together with materials scientists and metallurgists bring unparalleled capabilities to the new process development.

Furthermore we set up inductor design and development services for custom inductors. We perform prototype heat treatment on parts with our own processing machines to define:

The simulation is a powerful tool for virtual prototyping and it shortens the time needed for the experimental setup of the process. The figure shows an example of how important the simulation can be for defining the influence of the inductor position towards the piece, to have a heating comply or not comply with the customer's specification.

The Laboratory is the core of Saet Emmedi's design and innovation. Our lab team is involved in many activities such as check and verification of the process without forgetting optimization and testing which are essential to maintain a high level of our quality. The preliminary design is an essential step for choosing the correct way to develop an inductor. Our company develops its innovative solutions, based not only on the great deal of experience gained in fifty years of activity, but also practicing virtual simulations with experienced engineers coming from this field and the modern technology.
Saet Emmedi has many software, such as ELTA, COMSOL and FLUX.

The preliminary design follows rules and a business strategy that can be summed up in three simple steps:

  • Definition of the specifications;
  • Getting essential information from historical archives;
  • First virtual experimental approach;

All the collected data are carefully discussed and only after this analysis, it will be defined the guideline of the final inductor drawing and consequently its manufacturing.
